Why I made this blog

After graduating college with a biology degree I realized more than ever the disconnect between the life I wanted to live and the life that society was dictating for me. I realized that I could either continue on the path that the world wrote for me or start my own. The next choice I had in life was to pursue further education, or find a job in industry. I was done with the educational system. I decided that I would try and find a job in industry only to find that they wanted me to already have experience in the field. The jobs that didn’t require this were barely offering me more than I could make in the fast food industry.

I realized that as long as I continued work for other people I was always going to be just trying to survive. I decided it was time to change that. I needed to start working for myself and writing my own story.

My first thought was that I want out. I didn’t want to be part of the society and culture anymore. I wanted to make my own decisions, fend for myself, and survive on my own the best I could. I didn’t get very far because I realized that I didn’t even know how to get food unless it came from the grocery store. This is when I started to connect all the dots. I couldn’t get food unless I had money. I couldn’t get money unless I had a job. I ended up right back where I was in the first place. I poor college graduate working a low wage job just to scrape by.

This blog is about my path to finding the freedom to live the life that I want to live.
